The Timeseed Project was my graduate thesis for NYU: Interactive Telecommunications Program

In the tradition of the “Golden Record” carried on the Voyager spacecrafts, the Timeseed
Project is an experiment in temporal communication. Timeseed "coins" are produced by utilizing cutting edge 3D printing technologies and traditional ceramics techniques that date to antiquity.

Each porcelain Timeseed coin has a side displaying a 3D scan of my face and a small circular
depression holding several hair follicles (containing DNA) sealed in phosphorescent resin. The alternate sides bear one of four pictographs on: evolution, heliocentric solar order, the golden ratio, and the heroic nonviolence of the “Tiananmen Square Tank Man”. These objects are then distributed by gifting them to people who are travelling around the world and through the post.

Timeseed coins are currently located in eighteen countries on four continents.
